Congratulations to Stacey Koornneef on being awarded an Ontario Graduate Scholarship for 2026-27! Stacey is a Computer Science PhD student in the SEER Lab researching creativity and computational thinking. Her thesis research is co-supervised by Prof. Jeremy Bradbury and Prof. Miriam Sturdee (University of St. Andrews).

SEER Lab MSc Student Wins Best Poster Award
SEER Lab’s Bridget Green won a Best Poster Award at the Consortium for Software Engineering Research (CSER) 2025 Fall Meeting! Bridget’s poster was titled “LLBlocks: A Blocked-Based Programming Language for LLM Education” and was co-authored with her supervisor Dr. Jeremy Bradbury.
Japnit Ahuja wins 2024 Governor General’s Silver Medal
Congratulations to SEER Lab member Japnit Ahuja who graduated yesterday with a BSc (Honours) in Computer Science with highest distinction! Japnit was awarded the Faculty of Science Medal (highest cumulative GPA in the faculty) and the 2024 Governor General’s Silver Medal (highest cumulative GPA across all Ontario Tech University undergraduate programs).
Japnit Ahuja Wins Ada Lovelace Special Recognition Award for Women in ICT
Congratulations to SEER Lab’s Japnit Ahuja for winning the 2023 Ada Lovelace Special Recognition Award For Women In ICT, a WomenTech Network global award. The award is in recognition of her efforts in founding the Go Girl Organisation which provides free coding workshops to underprivileged girls.
